Chembond Chemicals Ltd and Calvatis GmbH form Joint Venture to bring world class industrial hygiene

Chembond Chemicals Ltd, Mumbai, India and Calvatis GmbH, Ladenburg, Germany have signed a joint venture agreement for manufacturing and distributing disinfectants and cleaning solutions for the food, beverage, dairy and brewing industry in the Indian sub-continent. With world class products, equipment and service back-up, the joint venture will cater to the growing need for professional cleaning solutions of these industries. This joint venture is a convergence of two respected and highly capable organizations driven by a common purpose. Calvatis’ vast knowledge, experience and contacts in the field globally combined with Chembond’s experience of manufacturing, sales and service practices and contacts from synergistic businesses would ensure early success for the joint venture. A strong demand for processed foods due to rapid urbanization, a change in preferences and consumption patterns has resulted in the Rs.175,000 crore Indian food processing (including fruits, vegetables, marine and meat), beverage and dairy industry to grow at an average rate of 8.5% over the past 5 years. The low level of processing and lack of appropriate technologies resulting in huge wastages again provide an excellent opportunity for proven technologies from the developed countries to be localized and brought to Indian industry.
